Before your complimentary exam, we ask you to fill out forms about your dental and medical history. These forms can be completed online or a few minutes early in our office. Remember to bring the Dental Clearance Form issued by your general dentist (available for download in our patient forms section) or have your general dentist fax it to us.
Once your paperwork is complete, we will take radiographs or 3D images of your teeth and jaw. Then, Dr. Jay, your orthodontist, will conduct an examination of your mouth and jaws. This helps him understand your needs and develop a personalized treatment plan.
Dr. Jay will discuss your smile goals and present a diagnosis. He will recommend an orthodontic treatment plan tailored to your needs and lifestyle. Dr. Jay will also answer any questions you may have.
Next, you will meet our treatment coordinator who will:
We believe everyone deserves a straight and healthy smile. Our office team will help you find a payment plan that fits your budget and assist with your insurance paperwork.
After your initial exam and treatment plan discussion, we will schedule your next appointment to start your smile journey!
During your first orthodontic visit, we will take photographs, x-rays, and a scan of your teeth. Our orthodontist will conduct a comprehensive examination and discuss treatment options with you. While we cannot guarantee braces on the initial visit, we strive to be efficient with your time. If our schedule permits and your general dentist has cleared you of any cavities or gum disease, we might begin treatment on the same day.
We recommend scheduling an initial orthodontic appointment for your child around the age of 7. This allows us to assess their growth and the development of permanent teeth. While early treatment may not always be necessary, regular evaluations help us monitor jaw growth and address any potential issues. Most patients are typically ready for full orthodontic treatment between ages 11 and 13.
Throughout the course of treatment, your appointment intervals will vary. Typically, patients come in for check-ups every 6 to 10 weeks, depending on their customized treatment plan.
We recognize the importance of education and work commitments. Our practice offers flexible hours, including before and after school appointments. Additionally, we are open on two Sundays each month to accommodate your busy schedule. However, the Sunday schedule fills fast and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
